MATH201 Introduction to Mathematical Analysis

2003-2004 Spring semester

Instructors: Dr. Y. M. Chiang, Dr. Wing Lung Lee

Preliminary Information

Textbook: Robert G. Bartle & Donald R. Sherbert, "Introduction to Real Analysis", 3rd edition, John Wiley & Sons, 2000.

The lectures will follow closely the chosen textbook. So it is recommended that every student should have a copy of the book. No notes will be distributed. It is found that many students only study from notes given by instructors. We stress that it is important that you should read books, and especially the textbook. Writing proofs are just as important. The book should be available from our university bookstore before the start of the Spring semester. The estimated retail price in Hong Kong is about HK$ 260. The US price of the book found from www.amazon.com is US$100.95.
