- 3 credit units.
- Prerequisite: Math 2033/Math 2043
- Topics: Metric space, topology, continuous map, basic topological
concepts and topological properties, graph, Euler number, CW-complex,
classification of surfaces, etc.

- Suggestions to students:
- 1. Come to class on time.
- 2. Attendances are not mandatory but strongly recommended.
- 3. Read the textbook and do exercises before and after
classes.
- 4. Turn off cell phones and keep quiet in class.
- 5. If you have to go to bathroom or leave early for some
reason, just go quietly without interrupting others.
- Grading Policy: no extra credit.
- Midterm Exam (25%) - 80 minutes, Date: TBA
- Final Exam (55%) - 160 minutes, Date: TBA
- Homework (20%) : A weekly Homework will be assigned, usually on Monday
(or sometimes might be one or two days late) and is always due on
the next Monday at 5pm (or the next working day if Monday is a
holiday). You either send your homework via email to the TA or drop off
the homework to the Mailbox in the math department before the deadline.
No late homework
will
be accepted.
