Course Description

This course presents numerical methods for solving parabolic, hyperbolic, and elliptic partial differential equations. The fundamental concepts of consistency, convergence and stability are studied. Discretization and solution methods are covered for each type of PDEs.

Course Material

Textbook:
  • Numerical Solution of PDEs by K.Morton and D.Mayers, Cambridge University Press, 1994
