Aim and Scope

To improve our understanding of the underlying mechanisms of non-equilibrium transport phenomena, this symposium aims to gather global experts to discuss the latest research and future trends. The symposium welcomes original contributions in theories, experiments, numerical simulations, and engineering practices related to, but not limited to, the following topics:


Topics

Rarefied gas dynamics and computational methods

  • Boltzmann equation and related kinetic models;
  • Monte Carlo, moment methods and other numerical algorithms;
  • Multiscale numerical methods;
  • AI-accelerated algorithms, etc.

Experimental techniques and measurement methods

  • Experimental observations of rarefied flows and non-equilibrium states;
  • Visualization and diagnostic technologies for micro-scale flows;
  • Experimental study of transport phenomena under extreme conditions, etc.

Multi-physics coupling and complex non-equilibrium flows

  • Non-equilibrium transport in multiphase and particle flows;
  • Plasma, reacting flows and radiative transport;
  • Particle aggregation, jets and rarefied plume dynamics;
  • Turbulence and instabilities, etc.

Non-equilibrium processes in aerospace and engineering applications

  • Hypersonic flight and re-entry process simulations;
  • Aerodynamic characteristics of vehicles in rarefied atmospheres;
  • Propulsion systems and nozzle expansion flows, etc.

Non-equilibrium interfacial flow and transport

  • Non-equilibrium evaporation/condensation processes;
  • Droplet and bubble dynamics;
  • Multiscale modeling of contact line and interfacial dynamics, etc.

Micro/nano-scale transport phenomena

  • Gas flow and heat transfer in micro/nano devices;
  • Surface interactions and non-equilibrium boundary condition modeling;
