Ka Yee is an interdisciplinary scholar and entrepreneur whose work sits at the intersection of the life sciences, law, and educational psychology. She holds a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Mathematics and Chemistry and a Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Alberta, where her research—funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)—focused on the biochemical characterization of the NHE1 membrane protein, which is critical in breast cancer metastasis, and chemical polymers for medical device applications.

Building on her scientific foundation, Ka Yee earned a Juris Doctor (JD) specializing in intellectual property law to protect and commercialize biochemical-device technologies within the healthcare sector. Further into her academic career, she completed a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Psychology, with a research focus on integrating educational technology into the mathematics curriculum.

Beyond her academic pursuits, she founded an Outreach Program dedicated to guiding students toward passion-aligned careers.

Ultimately, her mission is to nurture future talents, improve teaching and learning in mathematics through educational technology, and ensure that innovation in the life sciences is supported by a robust legal framework.
